My Cabin Crew Story

I have become a member of Hong Kong's leading international airline.

This is where it all began. This one very simple idea that changed everything.

Little did I know, I had already imprinted my own plans onto steps.

Is it a tale of probability or luck?

Until now, I still believe that fate was closely intertwined with free-will to make this dream a reality.

It was not a matter of chance, but a matter of choice.

There’s a story behind every person.

Three years ago, I decided to leave the Philippines to search for opportunities abroad. I could have settled in Cebu, but once I started reflecting back to my life’s purpose, I had to take a leap in the dark. I had to make the right decision before it was too late.

Trust me, it wasn’t easy.

The corporate world is ever-changing, and I have been lucky enough to be exposed to many different types of fields; Admin & HR, Education, Hospitality, Marketing & Public Relations, and Property & Real Estate. I worked for service-oriented companies but what I wished for myself was filtered to a certain extent.

Biggest challenge?

Finding my place in the corporate world in opposition to discovering my true passion; helping others. I greatly appreciate the value of the human touch, and lending a hand is where I find happiness.

As I move up the corporate ladder, I realized that I belong to the hospitality and tourism industry. I consider that this line of business has a fast-growing future; and all about diversity and opportunity.

I candidly confess that I am well-travelled and with my previous experiences, I am eager to find a profession that is adventurous, spontaneous and requires more problem solving as well as critical thinking. In this case, I was certain that a cabin crew position could serve as the right career for me.

In fact, I have a close friend who is working as a flight attendant at Qatar Airways. She has always fantasized about becoming one ever since her childhood, and never gave up on her dreams. She has had her ups and downs, but the rejection did not stop her from moving forward.

If this has always been your dream job, you must be prepared to work hard and keep your passion alive. I am certain about one thing, though; trust the timing of your life.

I admit, there are times when I would ask myself, ‘What is truly written in my destiny notebook? Where should I go? Why do I still feel lost?’. Believe me, it’s okay to question yourself. If it generates creativity, growth, and vitality. You’ll be fine.

HK's Flagship Airline opened the door for me, and I intended to finish the race and become one of their family members. Sometimes, you just have to take a leap of faith and make the jump.

Remember, you do not have to have it all figured out to move forward.

If you never try, you will never know.
